Pre-op Instructions for Intravenous Sedation Patients

Moderate IV sedation is a safe and pleasant technique for dental treatments. We will do our best to make this a comfortable and pleasant experience. Your safety is our top priority, therefore certain criteria will need to be followed prior to your appointment.
  1. Conscious sedation (IV-administered medicine) is reliable, safe, and very effective.
    Please do not have any food 6 hours prior to your appointment.
    If you have a morning appointment, please do not have any food after 12am (midnight).
  2. It is extremely important to hydrate. Please drink 16-32oz of water the day prior to your appointment.
    Please no liquids 2 hours before your scheduled appointment time.
  3. YOU CANNOT DRIVE YOURSELF TO THIS APPOINTMENT. Be certain to have a family member, friend or a person who is responsible for after care and drive you to and from your appointment.
    Absolutely No Uber or Lyft.
  4. Please continue to take all regularly prescribed medication as normal unless instructed otherwise.
  5. Absolutely NO Recreational Drug (THC) use 24 hours prior to procedure.

My staff and I are prepared to provide you with a safe, comfortable and successful surgical experience. We adhere to the highest standards of an outpatient-office surgical/anesthesia practice. We are active members of the Arizona Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
