What Is Gum Disease?

Gingivitis

This is the early stage of gum disease when the gums become red and swollen and bleed easily. The disease is treatable at this stage and can usually be eliminated by daily brushing and flossing.

Periodontitis

If left untreated, gingivitis will advance into periodontitis, and the gums and bones that support the teeth will become seriously and irreversibly damaged. Gums infected with periodontitis may cause teeth to fail and need to be removed by a dentist.

David Barget

DMD, MS

David Barget, DMD, MS has been practicing since 1997, focusing exclusively on periodontics and dental implants. He continues to lecture and conduct clinical research in the field of implant dentistry and lectures nationally for Nobel Biocare and Straumann.

He has a strong emphasis on esthetic periodontal and implant-related dentistry. David Barget, DMD, MS is a co-leader of the Interdisciplinary Spear Study Club. His most recent achievement is being a faculty member of the Spear Education Center.

DMD, MS
A proud diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, Dr. Chandrakeerthi joined our team of highly skilled Periodontists. After close to 15 years of practicing as a Periodontist and Implant Surgeon in the states of Oregon and Georgia, Dr. Chandrakeerthi and his family relocated to Scottsdale, AZ. Dr. Chandrakeerthi has made the study of Periodontology and Dental Implantology his life’s work. His background and specialization includes the more complex dental implant cases, bone grafting, sinus grafting, soft tissue and tissue grafting, and full arch rehabilitation.
